Family in the Bubble is about a South-Korean family, who managed to gain upper bourgeois lifestyle with real estate in the 80’s. When the Asian financial crisis hit in the 90’s the family lost everything over night. The poverty, accusations and mistrust took over the family. Their only child and the director of Family in the Bubble started to resent her parents and distanced her from them in teenage years. After she lived seven years on her own, she decides to find out what really happened to her family. The everyday life of the family is filled with unpaid debts and endless money problems. Suddenly her parents landlady let’s them know that the building will be renovated and they will have to move away. Parents seem to be least concerned about the upcoming eviction, instead they are still dreaming of a fortune to happen through real estate. The director starts to save her family but is possible for them to be a family again?
